Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometro Review

Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometro: History

Giuliano Mazzuoli is above all else, a creator. An Italian designer, born in 1947, who loves beautiful objects but also, beautiful cars. He lives and works on the heights of Florence in Tuscany, where he is from. He got the inspiration for his very first watch, the Manometro, from a visit from Giuliano to his doctor. There, during his meeting with the practitioner, he noticed the design of his pressure gauge! You know, the instrument that the doctor uses to measure your blood pressure.

The fascinating challenges stimulating the creative genius of Giuliano Mazzuoli who, combining a love for design and artisanal care, transforms his own inventions into authentic jewelry, exclusive for the originality of the lines, the choice of materials, and the manufactured work.

Faithful to the principles inspired by their designer, the new versions of Manometro S, on display at the Basel fair, reinterpret the sporting temperament of the time brand with the complicity of precious and innovative materials. The 18-carat pink gold of the bezel, the back, and the crown, with satin or shiny finish, adds preciousness and glamor to the energy released by the carbon fiber of the case paired with the rubber strap, while the use of titanium underlines its sober elegance.

After proposing cases in marble or cement, the Italian designer Giuliano Mazzuoli, creator of the eponymous watch brand, therefore returns to cases (45.2 mm / water-resistant to 50 meters) in 316L steel but with two versions of different dials: a green (a color that is particularly popular in the Middle East) and a blue (“blue is the new black”), a color that has become essential in the world of luxury watchmaking. For the rest, the characteristics of this Manometro remain unchanged. An automatic ETA caliber (2824/2) and the presence of the crown placed at 2 o'clock.

Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometro Price

The Manometro, like all luxury watches, has a higher price. It has a wonderful variety of design elements and is made with the finest fabrics. The Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometro is sure to resonate with the most experienced collectors. It is especially going to resonate with those who are drawn to the automotive, cars, and instrument themes. Apart from the newest versions that come in the colors green and blue for the dial configurations, the Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometro in steel also comes in colors that were previously available, like black and cream. The Price for a new Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometro is US$3,500.

Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometro Chronograph

Two years after the worldwide launch of the Manometro, Giuliano Mazzuoli presents his first chronograph.

The search for a sober and stripped-down design makes it possible to display the different functions of the chronograph in a legible and functional manner. The counters are off-center and the chronograph pushers are positioned on the left of a massive steel case. The reset button located at 8 o'clock and the start-up at 10 o'clock are clearly shifted towards the bottom of the case and personalized with the engraved Giuliano Mazzuoli logo.

The background of the black or ivory-colored dial is protected by a sapphire crystal. The hour and minute hands are luminescent while the red and silver hands of the counters provide a sporty touch. The Manometro Chronograph is powered by the prestigious Caliber 2030 Dubois-Depraz movement, bi-directional automatic and with a 42-hour power reserve. This movement is protected by a waterproof bottom held on the 45.2mm case by 8 screws and 4 which fix and secure the magnificent brown or black stitched lizard bracelet.

Sought-after and unusual, the twinning of materials exalts the technical virtuosity of the case which houses an automatic movement of Swiss fine watchmaking and is made without a metal skeleton, using F1 technology, to guarantee water tightness. The red rubber ring of the crown positioned at 2.00 o'clock is coordinated in the end with the discreet details of the carbon dial offering the watch a further touch of design. Aesthetic harmony and qualitative excellence are found in the Giuliano Mazzuoli watch from the Manometro S collection, which boasts completely Italian artisanal work and which is presented in its precious skin case made with manual wisdom.

Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometro Limited Edition

After having proposed cement and marble for the cases of his Manometro, Giuliano Mazzuoli returns to steel boxes but this time plays with the color of the dials: indeed, in this summer of 2016, this watch which is inspired by a manometer, comes in blue or green versions.

This year, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of this model, Mazzuoli is, therefore, presenting a limited series of 120 copies (ten times twelve months) with a polished 316L steel case of 45 mm (water-resistant to 50 meters) powered by an automatic mechanical caliber (ETA 2824/2). Note the presence of the signature of Giuliano Mazzuoli on the side of the case, just below the crown placed at 2 o'clock. One of the specifics of this anniversary series.

The ivory-colored dial displays a 12 in red, just like the second hand of the same color. The part number appears on the dial at 6 o'clock handwritten (in this case, it is watch no. 46). This number is found engraved on the bottom of the steel case. Naturally, the calfskin strap is made in the Florence region. One of the most renowned regions for the work of this material.

Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometro Carbon

The fascinating challenges stimulate the creative genius of Giuliano Mazzuoli who, combining a love for design and artisanal care, transforms his own inventions into authentic jewelry, exclusive for the originality of the lines, the choice of materials, and the manufactured work. Passion and productive attention come together in an association that must be taken into account, which gives each creation added value, going beyond conventional aesthetic constraints.

Faithful to the principles inspired by their designer, the new versions of Manometro S, on display at the next Basel Fair, reinterpret the sporting temperament of the time brand with the complicity of precious and innovative materials. Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometro Camouflage

The camouflage print has been fashionable in the world of luxury watchmaking for a few years now. Always on the lookout for the latest trends, the Italian Giuliano Mazzuoli is continuing to develop his famous Manometro which arrives this summer with blue, gray, sand or khaki "camouflage" boxes, with matching dial.

Giuliano Mazzuoli is neither the first nor the last watchmaker to offer "camouflage" watches. Bell & Ross, Eberhard, Sinn, RJ-Romain Jerome, Ralph Lauren, TAG Heuer, etc. have already surfed this basic trend, but it must be admitted that these four Manometros were proved to be particularly successful and attractive. During the summer of 2017, Giuliano Mazzuoli returns with this Camo Manometro. The 45.2 mm steel case (water-resistant to 50 meters), which is covered with a combination of colors forming a very martial mat camouflage pattern with the most beautiful effect: blue, khaki, sand or gray. With each version, a matching dial!

A fun trivia to know about; the "camouflage" fabric was created during the First World War by the painter Victor-Lucien Guirand de Scevola and some colleagues who developed these ‘trompe l'oeil’ techniques to hide artillery pieces in France. In contrast, it was the Germans who used camouflage uniforms for the first time to make their soldiers less visible to the enemy. "He is undisciplined and that is what makes him unique," says designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, a great camo lover, who has worked with him since his first fashion show in 1969!

Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometro S Carbonio

Italian watchmaker Giuliano Mazzuoli produces a range of highly distinctive watches inspired by the clean lines of the Manometer. Principally, he is very passionate about all his creations including the wonderful Manometro S Carbonio. The cylindrical case measures a respectable 45.2mm x 14.8mm excluding the massive crown at the 2 o’clock position. We love the dial that is also constructed from carbon fiber and is punctuated by the bold numerals. The inclusion of red accents in the composition gives the timepiece a sporty appearance. Currently, the company manufactures all its watches in Switzerland and equips them with ETA movements.
