Furthermore, it also has GMT functions which helps the user keep track of the time of another time zone of their own choosing. The crown of this watch can be pulled out one notch to adjust the hour hand, without affecting the second hour hand to ensure that accuracy is maintained in timekeeping.

The Grand Seiko SBGJ217 display is laid on the foundation of its beautiful silver-colored dial and its round 24 hours bezel. No Arabic numerals are present on the dial, but the hand-polished stainless-steel indexes replacement blends with the dial to give a beautiful look. The hour, minute and seconds hand are made from hand-polished stainless steel, while the GMT hour hand is blue in color to differentiate it from the other hour hand. As usual, the signature GS initial of the Japanese company is just below the 12:00 mark while a date window sits at the 3:00 mark.

Finally, another nice display characteristic of the Grand Seiko SBGJ217 is that on its back case. The back case has a see-through design that displays the 9S86 caliber automatic movement system to the view of its bearer.
